“Miniature topographies inside 200-gallon fish tanks, based on traditional landscape paintings. Keever fills the tanks with water once he’s sculpted and placed the miniatures, and colored lights and pigments create dense, atmospheric environments. He views his works as an evolution of the landscape tradition and deliberately acknowledges the conceptual artifice.”

One time when I was having lunch with my grandma, I started telling her about my boyfriend taking me out to a tapas restaurant. She momentarily had a weird facial expression that went away just as quickly as it came, but after a couple minutes she was like, “Were the waitresses just not wearing shirts?” It took me a moment to realize she’d thought I said a topless restaurant and she’d rolled with it anyway.
